Exquisite Chinese silk embroidered fan case from Qing court, 19th century. One side embroidered with gold and silver threads on the yellow silk ground, and the other side embroidery on the royal blue silk ground. Kept original weaved handle. This is a Chinese Kesi (silk tapestry) dragon robe or Chi-fu dated to the late 19th Century. KESI dragon robe was the most expensive type of dragon robe in Qing dynasty; much more expensive than embroidery and brocade robe. A Chinese imperial embroidery dragon robe from about 1890 Qing Dynasty. The robe is made of a reddish brown silk ground. There are nine, five-clawed dragons done in couched golden thread. Brown was considered a shade of yellow by the Qing Court. The use of the color was restricted to the imperial family members. Partial of the original lining was replaced. The robe is in general good condition with some loose threads and slight age wear. Size: 83” x 53”

This is a rare and fine silk kesi dragon roundel from the 19th century. It is very likely that this roundel was from the surcoat of an Emperor of the 19th century. The roundel shows a 5 claws dragon with a "Long Live for Ten Thousand Years" mark weaved in gold thread over the dragon's head. The endless "Wan" character, which is "Endless Ten Thousand", are all over the back ground in gold thread. It is in overall good condition in rich color with no stain or restoration. Size: 9" diameter.

A Rare full set of Imperial Chinese Chaofu (Formal Robe)skirt, cuffs and collar. Silk embroidered dragons with gold-wrapped thread on the Gauze ground. Five-clawed dragons racing amidst clouds in pursuit of flaming pearls above water and wave motifs. The white silk stitches on dragons were made to imitate effect of seed pearls. Chaofu was the most formal robe of the Qing Dynasty. Gauze Chaofu is very rare on the market today...

19th century Chinese uncut silk robe facings, includes a pair of horsehoof-shaped cuffs, a collar and a lapel, all with dragons in gold metal threads in pursuit of flaming pearls amidst clouds above a band of wind-tossed waves. 42" x 15.5" (106.68 x 39cm). Very good condition. A tearing and pulled threads on the edge as shown in the photos, but not hurting the patterns at all.

A rare find ORIGINAL, BEAUTIFUL and COMPLETE lady's informal robe of aqua blue silk brocade with gilted buttons, CLASSIC style of circa 1860. Well kept for over 30 years by the previous owner and still in good condition!

The sleeve bands are of creamy white satin with detailed satin stitch embroidery of lady figures in the gardens. The trim is weaved satin brocade on black silk. A old tag is still attached to the inside of the collar...

A gorgeous Chinese dragon embroidered silk hanging, dated to the late Qing dynasty, circa 1880-1890. Gold threads couched two five claws dragons chasing a flaming pearl amidst the ruyi clouds. Couched lishui stripes and mountain beneath the dragons. Silk in satin and Peking knot stitches with flowers among the couching. The edges that would frame the face applied with a border of orange red satin gold thread couched with eight Taoist Emblems and endless knots...

Two Chinese rank badge roundels from the short lived Hongxian Empire of 1916. That year, Yuanshikai, the first Grand President of Republic of China, became emperor for only 83 days. These silk embroidered roundels are few on the market due to the short life of the Hongxian Empire. One roundel has nine of the traditional twelve symbols, which roundel was for the civil official of first rank (five ranks total)...
