ANTIQUE CHINESE DRAGON EMBROIDERY SILK HANGING

A gorgeous Chinese dragon embroidered silk hanging, dated to the late Qing dynasty, circa 1880-1890. Gold threads couched two five claws dragons chasing a flaming pearl amidst the ruyi clouds. Couched lishui stripes and mountain beneath the dragons. Silk in satin and Peking knot stitches with flowers among the couching. The edges that would frame the face applied with a border of orange red satin gold thread couched with eight Taoist Emblems and endless knots. Backed on a blue silk with three hanging hooks.

Dimensions: 45" x 10.5". Condition: Very good. No stains or soiling. No damage.
