This is a Late Ming - early Qing period white jade plaque, carved with an old Chinese love story "Que Qiao Shiang Hui". The subject on this piece is rare. It's a very famous Chinese folk love story, which named the Chinese Valentine's Day - Double Seven Festival: In the evening of seventh day of lunar seventh month, also called Lover's Festival - Traditional Chinese Valentine's Day, when Cowherd and Weaving Maid (NiuLang ZhiNiu) are allowed by the Jade Emperor of the Heaven their annual meeting on the Magpie Bridge.

This jade plaque carved a girl and a boy on each side of a stone bridge. Lotus root and lotus flower are under the bridge; Two magpie birds are over the bridge; Pine tree branch and Ruyi cloud formed a frame; Balanced layout with excellent workmanship showing the typical characteristic of the time. It is in excellent condition with no damage. Size: 6.2 cm diameter.
