Chinese Imperial Silk Embroidery Dragon Robe c 1890
Sold. Thanks Again!

A Chinese imperial embroidery dragon robe from about 1890 Qing Dynasty. The robe is made of a reddish brown silk ground. There are nine, five-clawed dragons done in couched golden thread. Brown was considered a shade of yellow by the Qing Court. The use of the color was restricted to the imperial family members. Partial of the original lining was replaced. The robe is in general good condition with some loose threads and slight age wear. Size: 83 x 53
