An absolutely stunning item carved of white muttonfat nephrite jade with embellishments in silver. Originally a late Ming/early Qing Hair adornment or "BIAN-FA" (Lit.-Hair weave) it was used by high ranking ladies in the 18th century Qing dynasty (Whose royal family were of Manchurian descent) to hold in place their elaborate hairstyles (Large hair weaves were a distinguishing feature of Manchu society ladies)...
