William Huston Long Island Seascape Watercolor
William Huston lived in Patchogue, NY in the 1880's. His work was exhibited in the National Academy of Design as well as othe galleries and museums including the Riverside Art Museum. This watercolor is typical of the Long Island landscapes and seascapes for which he is known. A single sailboat can be spotted in the distance. Seagulls fly above the cliff. The painting is, particularly serene. It is framed in a gold and gesso frame. There is some small pieces of gesso missing. No damage to the watercolor, itself. It measures 22 X 17 framed. It dates from the late 19th century.
