This antique chair cover is from the estate of Bobby Arlen Langell of Oakland California. It was framed under plastic by his Art supply store in the 50's or 60's. The symbolism relates to longevity and good fortune. The Chinese character for longevity is in various scripts across the top border. This well executed Bronze is of fierce looking Foo Dog and its cub. It displays beautifully from any angle with life like flowing manes and vividly angry expressions. It's just over five inches long. It's very heavy for its size weighing 1 lb 11 oz.

This early oriental ceramic wine jar is decorated with a fabulous freely painted dragon in under glaze blue. It is very large being 12 and 1/2 inches high and about 10 inches wide. There are some old small chips on the edge of spout and on the rings where the rope or cord was attached originally. There is a larger chip to the base as you can see in the one picture. This effigy bowl is 21 and 1/2 inches long by just under 16 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches deep. There is a well worn depression in the middle inside of the bowl from usage. It is completely untouched and as found. It smells strongly as if it has been in an old barn. This spectacular Shudei-type Meiji period (late 19th century) umbrella stand needs to be seen in order to be fully appreciated. Reticulated Tokoname ware is very uncommon. This along with the gilding and elaborate detailing make this an exceptional example of this Japanese art form. This exquisite Satsuma Cat is about 9 x 5 x 4 inches in size. It is in excellent condition with glaze crazing do to its age. This bulbous form snuff bottle has a lotus plant with leaf, flower and seed on one side and a delightful Kio or Goldfish on the other. It shows some wear from age but it is in excellent condition.
