Those two woods are very precious and rare. The shape is typical of Tamil trunk from the Jaffna region, decorated with circular piece of mirror and brass nails to keep bad spirits away. Originally used during weeding to carry the clothing and the jewelry of the bride going in to her new family. Made of two separate pieces, the trunk itself and the four foots mounted on a base. The wood as a beautiful honey color patina. Good condition.
