An elm wood writing desk of Chinese design with Western influence, composed of two side pedestals and center part, which can be dismantled. Each pedestal has two drawers and a bottom grill, and the center part has an additional two drawers. Between the two pedestals is a removable footrest which resembles the same grill design.

Condition: Excellent condition with some wear, consistent with the age of this desk.

A pair of elm wood chairs of classical form with short curved backs and wood seats. The back splat is carved with two confronting dragon motifs in a central medallion, the lower splat with a cusped outline. Each front apron shares a identically carved deep and elaborate cusped outline, the side spandrels plain with no design. Each chair supported with double stretchers and a wide footrest.

A pair of chairs constructed from elm wood designed with a slightly tilted crest rail that make way to the well-matched splats, each with an openwork design at the top, in the middle a square carved in deep relief and the bottom with a scrolling design. Both the humpback shaped arms and rear stiles are carved with a pointed half scroll to make the frame. The apron carved with a double scroll at the center and the feet carved in horse-hoof style with single scrolls at each inner corner.

Description: A long altar table with a solid wood top plank that tapers down to the legs. Everted flanges and unique hand carved aprons on each side. Each side is decorated with a lattice pattern with a center roundel. The legs carved with a series of vertical lines in relief from top to bottom.

The chairs with a rectangular back and arms, and a three-sided framework in the backrest. Such armchairs, mostly crafted from huanghuali wood, were very popular during the Ming and the early Qing dynasties. A few were crafted out of other woods, particularly zitan and tielimu.
