A translucent white jade pendant of a ceremonial axe
Qing dynasty, 17th to 18th century
Height: 2 in (7 cm)
Thickness: 1/8 in (5 mm)

An exquisitely carved nephrite pendant of a ceremonial axe surmounted by an archaic kui dragon, with the end of the body going through the slot in the axe, which is carved on both sides. The axe itself is decorated with archaistic C scrolls and a taotie mask.
