Qing dynasty, 18th century Seating height: 19 in (48 cm) Seat: 22 ½ in (57 cm) x 17 ¼ in (44 cm) Total height: 32 ¾ in (83.5 cm) The chairs with a rectangular back and arms, and a three-sided framework in the backrest. Such armchairs, mostly crafted from huanghuali wood, were very popular during the Ming and the early Qing dynasties. A few were crafted out of other woods, particularly zitan and tielimu.
