This is a exquisite and finely carved ivory harpoon head of a bird. The Old Bering Sea Culture dates c. 100 BC to 250 AD. The bottom of the beak and the tip is missing but that is not uncommon. They were discarded after they were damaged in the hunt and a new one was made. This piece measures 3 7/8 inches long x 1 inch high and 9/16 inch across the top.
