Absolutely charming Victorian pink gold baby chicken charm, ca. 1885, England. Stamped 9K on one of the wings. Slightly under 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch. Easily and preferably worn as a pendant due to the fact that it is a hollow charm from the days when machines could still make something so tiny hollow. As it is, there is a slight indent on one side. See photos for details. Feel free to email me questions regarding this item.

Renaissance theme of the Bard - a lute, a horn, sheet music, a rose, a cap and either a gourd or a traveling sack, against a hand stippled bronze background in this rare and unusual hand painted enamel in carved out bronze medal that is held in a 14 karat pink gold frame. 1.25 inch in diameter. Condition is great. Back is absolutely plain with a worn surface of true age. I’m guessing the final quarter of the 19th century, probably France.

Exquisite Beaux Arts style 14 karat gold Victorian lace pin with a central opal surrounded by five tiny enamel flowers within a larger design of five overlapping hearts! A hundred years ago, these pins were called lace pins because they were used to fasten the many lace scarves and collars that were worn then. Now, it looks very smart on a beret, lapel, or grouped with a bunch or other ones. Very intricate and beautifully made, in mint condition. -- See photos for size, condition and interesting side view.

Charming 1.3 inch solid 9 karat gold pin with the word “BABY”also in gold, appliqued to its top. Circa 1895. These tiny pins were used by the rich for fastening baby clothing in the 19th and very early part of the 20th century. This pin tests at 9 karat, an English gold standard. It is in excellent condition with the original pin back and clasp. A sweet and thoughtful gift for someone with a new baby of their own. Or since everyone is someone else’s baby, for the big BABY in your life---looks subtly cool and humorous on an adult collar, lapel, hat or beret.
