Antique - prehistoric? Maori nephrite jade pendant with 14 karat gold jump ring. From a bag of old green stone pieces I bought. I was told they are natural river polished end pieces and shards from long gone ritual carvings made from this indigenous New Zealand jade. I thought they were lovely and converted them into pendants. Quite thick, this one weighs 12.8 grams. I've got a few more thinner, more asymetrical ones (edges of the jade boulders they used) from the same batch. All of these need to remain oiled by wearing on the body, or oiling, otherwise faint white patches from the roughness of the beach sand-like river polish will appear.
