The exterior has been allowed to patinate for 20 years and has taken on the usual dark grey patina typical for sterling silver, but the interior is completely pristine as it has never actually been used...

"Coyly looking down, Madame Recamier holds a veil across her chest. The sheath both demurely conceals and reveals her breasts...

From our European Collection, a superbly carved 19th century marble bust of a beautiful young woman, intricately fashioned with wonderful detailing to her cameo necklace, her hair adornments, the fleur de lis motifs on her clothing, and so forth. Absolutely fabulous, this is a very high quality example executed with high refinement and realism.
