From our European Collection, a very fine English oak refectory table, late 18th / early 19th century, hand-tooled from solid plank timbers and iron nails, using rustic style hand-carving for design motifs, and with crossbar support on the bottom. This piece has great natural patina to the wood that gives it wonderful character in addition to the charm of its obvious Olde Worlde masculine feel. An excellent example of this style of table making. Can be used as a dining table, work desk, display table, or in any of several other applications.

Size and Condition: 83 1/2 inches long, 29 1/2 inches wide, 29 inches tall. The table is still very solid and fully functional, though of course being a wood item incorporating timbers 150-200 years old, there are various nicks, dings, dents, minor splits and fissures, shrinkage etc, all of which is totally natural for wood almost two centuries old. That said, the table is very solid and completely useable, and it does not require any servicing or restoration at this time This is Olde Worlde rudimentary woodworking, yet these were still made to last centuries.
