From our Fine Arts and Americana Collection, a very good and sizeable original oil on canvas seascape from Peruvian artist Fernando Giron of Miraflores Peru. Executed in a warm earth tone palette of various browns, sea-green, pale yellow, pale orange, and white, depicting crashing waves upon a beach at sunset with gulls in the foreground, this is a very nicely painted and evocative piece.
Giron is apparently not well-known yet beyond the Miraflores / Lima art circle, but this could change as we think he is talented, and perhaps he will be recognized as such by others as well. We had this painting lavishly framed but in a manner we think befits the piece. An opportunity to own a very good original oil painting from an up and coming local artist, when mere serigraphs / giclees / lithographs / and other mass production prints of all kinds, will set you back even more at large commercial art galleries.
