From our Indian Subcontinent Collection, a fine vintage wool and silk Pakistani Bokhara rug in classic Tekke Gul design, handwoven on a vertical loom with cotton base, using a combination of natural mineral pigments and synthetic dyes. The Tekke Gul motifs as well as various tiers of the border elements, are all outlined in off-white / cream colored silk, a rather elaborate and more complicated execution seen on the higher quality examples.

Cheap machine made copies of Bokhara rugs (often of Chinese or Southeast Asian manufacture) can be found in many retail outlets and all over the internet. The overall look is the same but the quality is very different. This piece is guaranteed to have been indigenously made in Pakistan and by hand.

Size and Condition: 75 inches long, 51 inches wide. Overall excellent condition. There has been some minor fraying to the fringe and it has been trimmed in places, but the main body of the rug is in excellent condition.
