A very nicely carved Peking glass snuff bottle. We date this bottle to be from the 18th/19th century. This bottle is finely carved is a gently sloped rectangular shape with tall medium reduced neck. The body carving depicts pairs of Chinese carp, carved in amber and one pair in each carved frame. This is a classic marriage symbol. The frames as I refer to are carved of a rich indigo, violet blue color. All of this is layered over a 'snowflake' white glass body. The tactile feel is wonderful. The stopper is carved from a striated carnelian agate.
