The AUTUMN IN LONGQUAN is a contemporary Chinese Longquan celadon artwork by Chen Aiming. The artist Mr. Chen Aiming cleverly used the pottery clay from Yixing (the material for Chinese famous Zisha teapot) and inserted into the main body to create the cloud pattern that autumn arrive in longquan. The pale celadon glaze was used after the first firing process.Thus created a very nice visual effect in terms of the color contrast.

When asked Mr. Chen Aiming why not use the Chinese paint brush and black ink to create under-the-glaze effect, the answer from this Chinese Provincial Arts and Crafts Master was simple:"It is contemporary potting but painting." He also invited the observers to check any broken lines on this vessel, which was the goal before the creation of this artwork.

It is difficult to mix the two different materials into one artwork. However the creativity applied to the vessel had changed the celadon ware in tradition. The contemporary celadon vessel mixes the great potting skill, creative design of its shape, jade-like visual effect and the innovation from Chen's the pottery clay insertion.

The celadon artist Mr. Chen Aiming is the first Zhejiang Arts & Crafts Master who reinvented the ancient technique under modern gas kiln since 2000. Chen learned the skill from Mr. Xu Chaoxing the high ranking China Arts and Crafts Master and Professor Gao Fong in the Arts Department of Beijing Qing Hua University. Chen Aiming used multiple glazing techniques and created such an illustrious plum-green color tone which presents the stunning jade-like artwork.

The Contemporary Celadon Vessel is in perfect condition and Chen Aiming's signature on base with certificate signed and original packaging box from his workshop.
