Longquan Celadon Lidded Censer With Embossed Crickets

This is a delicate lidded censer with embossed cricket fighting. It looks like a vintage Chinese Longquan celadon ware which was popular in Northern Song Dynasty (960 - 1127AD), however this lidded censer's real birth time was 20th Century or later. It was potted, fired and made up under a mysterious technique called antique reproduction. The color tone from the wood firing Longquan celadon kiln was classic. It is totally different from the modern gas kiln. On the top of the censer there are embossed cricket fighting. Such censer is appreciated by collectors due to the firing skill that makes the crickets look alive. The crickets on this censer are actively presented under the mono glaze, which is the most difficult era without color tone compensation.

This lidded censer is offered 'AS IS'. The best 'in good faith' description and photos are provided. Please also note the pitting, kiln flaw, chip, crack and hairline etc on the body are made on purposely by the ceramist.

Year of Completion: 20th Century or later

Diameter: 10cm

Height (with lid): 9cm
