Due to nature of the clay, celadon from Longquan kiln needs at least 1300 degrees Celsius temperature in firing. In order to create the jade-like glaze the ceramist has to repeat the glazing work for several times. Thicker glaze creates the greater visual impression but on the other hand, the difficulty to manage the glaze presentation multiples.

In addition to this traditional feature the artist Mr. Wang Chuanbin who hand crafted this artwork, embosses beautiful propitious patterns ingeniously and created this contemporary conceptual artwork. Wang embosses five bats pattern on the upper part of the box and beautiful propitious patterns on the middle of the box. The innovative development made this artwork a real contemporary art rouge box in celadon art history since 1957 'Five Major Chinese Kilns Rebuild' announcement.
