| Rare chawan inscribed by Zen monk Kajitani Sonin (1914 - 1995). He was 131st abbot of Shokoku-ji and sixth head of Shokoku-ji sect of Rinzai Zen Buddhism from 1976 till his death. Roughly 3" tall by 5 1/4" diameter. Perfect condition, with imperfections from firing, housed in original signed box (date 1984 is added to the box) Box is in very good condition (lid is slightly smaller than the box).
