| Masayuki Imai (b. 1930) was born in Osaka and studied in Kyoto, where he still resides. He has been often exhibited and prize winning member of the Nitten. He also took the grand prize at the International Biennale of Contemporary Ceramics as well as the prestigious Japan Ceramic Society Award in 1965. He is famous for inlaid color clay ceramics, and this kogo, with abstract rendering of the character “cow” (made for the year of Ox or cow) is a perfect example of the style he is famous for. Kogo is most likely from 1997. In perfect condition, enclosed in original signed box, with artist sealed cloth. 1 3/16” (3 cm) high, 2 ¾” (6.9 cm) in diameter. | ||
