Fine Handmade Melon-Ribbed Leinonen Silver Coffee Set
Coffee set, three pieces, consisting of coffeepot, creamer and open sugar, on low stepped spreading ring feet, with melon-ribbed sides and arching hollow handles by master maker Karl F. Leinonen, born in 1866. Leinonen, who emigrated to the United States from his native Finland, was master smith of the Boston and Wellesley Hills branches of the Handicraft Shop, and one of only seven metalsmiths awarded medals by the Boston Society of Arts and Crafts. This elegant set has ivory insulators on the coffeepot and chased lines around the rims. All pieces are in very nice condition and are heavy for their small size. The workmanship is lovely. Coffeepot: 6-7/8" W and 7-3/8" H. Creamer: 4-7/8" W and 3-5/8" H. Sugar: 5-5/8" W and 3" H. Marked with KLF stamp as shown in the following photographs.
