This wonderful chawan (tea bowl) is part of a new series of works by Suzuki Goro. The potter has come back to the Raku style and created another fantastic piece; an Ogata Kenzanesque vessel with an original Suzuki Goro twist. (on display until the end of March) Kindly inquire if you have any question. Suzuki Goro is a potter who goes beyond that usual appellation. He has developed a unique way of expressing himself through ceramics, basing his work on traditional styles from the Mino tradition: Shino, Oribe, Ki-Seto (yellow Seto), Setoguro (black Seto) and the Karatsu tradition. His works, which have a strong sense of individualism, include tea bowls with colorful painted cars and life size chairs, but he is also a master of more orthodox pieces. In 2002, Suzuki Goro received the very prestigious Japan Ceramic Society Prize. The chawan is signed and in perfect condition. It will be shipped in a signed box. Dimensions: 12 x 8 cm (4.8 x 3.2 in) The listed price includes EMS shipping and the fee for the signed box Please make sure you read my Sales Policy Page and kindly inquire if you have any question. Some of the pieces presented in this catalog may be acquired through an interest free payment plan. |
