Dakota Arts was founded in 2014 by Janel Houton former partner in Blue and White America, Inc., operating out Tokyo, Japan and the US, having offered Japanese and Asian antiques on the internet from 1998-2006 . From 2002-2005 I ran the gallery "Seigetsu-do" in Kyoto, Japan. I specialized in Japanese Ceramics: Imari and Arita porcelains, Folk and Tea Ceremony ceramics Since then I have broadened my interests to include Hawaiian and modernist art, Thankas from Nepal, Scandinavian Pottery, Southwestern and Native American Arts, textile arts, and whatever else catches my eye!

Articles about my business appeared in Japanese magazines (2004 and 2005), and in the fashion magazine Women's Wear Daily and in US Japan Business News, I also wrote for the Japanese magazine Daruma (2000 and 2002), Sothebys "Connoisseur Magazine" and exhibited in New York City during Asian Art Week.
