A large rouleau vase of porcelain decorated with the Three Auspicious Gods (sanxing) of Daoism, in polychrome enamel glazes (famille verte style) on a deep, blue ground. Excellent quality of work. China, late Qing to early Republican Period, ca. 1900–1920. Marked with a Kangxi-period nianhao. H 46 cm. Condition: Excellent.

A small brush washer (shuiyin) of porcelain of bell shape decorated with flambé glaze in purplish red. Qing, early 19th cent. (Jiaqing- to early Daoguang periods). H 4.5 cm, D 6.5 cm. Condition: Very good. With the usual glaze breaks at the bottom where the glaze fused to the surface of the oven. Common to many pieces in this type of glaze as well as pieces with ox blood.

A small, but rather fine votive image in gilt bronze of the bodhisattva Manjushri (Wenshu), the personification of Transcendental Wisdom. The bodhisattva is seated in the usual lotus posture holding sword and scripture on lotuses set at his shoulders. Original closing. Tibet, 17th cent. H 11 cm. Condition: Excellent, thick gilding and minor wear. Later inserts of turquoise pearls.

A small and very attractive brush washer ( shuiyin) of porcelain in the shape of a pumpkin on a stand decorated with polychrome glazes in aubergine, yellow, creme and green. Qing, early to mid-19th cent. (Jiaqing-Daoguang periods. With old mark guaranteeing the date 1821-1850). H 5.5. cm. Condition: Excellent.

Four pieces of embroidery on silk. Two larger pcs. on red ground, one with phoenix on a garden rock and the other scholar’s objects, two smaller, square ones, both with five-clawed dragons. Late Qing to early Republican Period, ca. 1880–1920. L 70 X 42 cm, 60 X 40 cm, 34 X 31 cm, 36 X 30 cm. Condition: Very good with virtually no wear and losses. One of the smaller pieces slightly faded.

A large porcelain figure (blanch de chine) of the Songzi Guanyin sitting on a cliff rising from the sea. On the right is the vase for the willow branch and on the left the Guanyin Scripture. She is flanked by Sancai and Longnu, and below the two dragons chasing the pearl. The image is hollow-sculpted from two parts. Qing, ca. 1800. H 35.5 cm. Condition: Rather good, but with losses to the crown and at the two dragons.

Small tea or wine cup of porcelain decorated with Buddhist symbols (The Seven Auspicious Signs) in polychrome enamels in familie rose manner. Inside with lotus flower and double Dorje. Bottom with Manchu writing. Late Qing. Although table ware with this decoration is known from the Daoguang period, the present piece would appear to date from the end of the Qing, ca. 1900. H 5.5 cm. Condition: Good, but for a thin, long hairline to side ( see last picture).

Object of contemplation for the scholar’s table made of partly carved huangyangmu/boxwood root wood to form an anthropomorphic conglomeration of different animals with inserted metal nails to emulate eyes. Possible a brush rest. Qing, 18–19th cent. H 8 cm. Condition: Excellent and with good wear.
