A large and heavily thrown charger of a Satsuma-like, soft-paste ware decorated in polychrome enamel colors in high relief with an amusing rendering of the Seven Gods of Good Luck in animated play over two wrestling rats. Signed: Shōge, Yokohama. Japan, late Meiji, ca. 1900. H 6 cm, D 36.5 cm. Condition: Good (no chips or breaks), but some wear due to age and use.
A very attractive small, onion-shaped Satsuma vase delicately decorated with a flower/ikebana basket containing different flowers and plants. The upper part of the neck with a circular band consisting of a geometric flower pattern. Satsuma mark and signature: Kizan (?). Japan, Meiji, ca. 1900. H 12.5 cm, D 8 cm. Condition: Very good (minor wear to gold).
