Bizen ware ball shape vase by TOKUMA Watanabe
A large and rather unusual vase of Bizen-ware in ball-shaped form by the young artist Watanabe Takuma. The piece is made by overlapping bands in low relief interspersed with sections decorated with patterns emulating weaving. It has the typical Bizen earthern colours with patches of grey. Signed mark of Takuma. Document for the piece with information on the artist. Made after 2004. H. 20 cm, D. 22 cm. Condition: Perfect. * Watanabe Takuma (b. 1968). Graduated in 1991 after which he began his apprecticeship under Yamauchi Koi (b. 1945). Lives and works in Bizen, Okayama where he has his own studio. He has been taking part in several exhibitions in the last few years.
