A very rare vase by Christian Joachim Royal Copenhagen
An unusual and very rare vase of stoneware by the famous Danish designer and ceramic maker Christian Joachim (1870–1943).* The twisted vase, which has been made to turn clock-wise, is covered in a thick, red-purplish, running glaze. Signed in the bottom: Joachim for Royal Copenhagen and the number S. 501. Ca. 1907–8. H 21 cm. Condition: Very fine (minor scratches due to age). Christian Joachim was a leading artist and designer of soft paste ceramic at Royal Copenhagen. In the early years of the 20th century he also participated in experimentation w. studio stoneware for the factory. The present piece is from this period and it is very rare. Ref.
