Biography: Aage BIRCK (b. 1941). A studio potter specializing in the use of salt glazes and sculptural pieces in which different utilitarian elements such as old tools, bone and pieces of porcelain have been incorporated. He is based in the town of Haderslev in the southern part of Jutland where he has his studio and outlet. Today Birck is one of the most respected and innovative ceramic makers in Denmark with numerous exhibitions and public works to his credit. His works can be found in many museums and private collections world-wide including the US, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden. Hungary and the UK.
