Kato Tsubusa: large water bowl (mizusaki) pale celadon
A large water bowl (mizusaki) of irregular shape for use in tea ceremony with a small sprout. Signed: Kato Tsubusa (b. 1962), a well-established ceramic artist from Tajimi. Kato started exhibiting his works in 1984 and has participated in many competitions and exhibitions in Japan and abroad. Known for his combination of delicate, almost ethereal, pale, bluish celadon glazes on rough porcelain, his pieces have a singular character and highly aesthetic quality to them. H 10.5 cm, W 20 cm. It comes with a wooden storage box signed by the artist. Condition: Perfect.
