A pair of delicately carved table screens of ivory, most probably depicting scenes from the famous 18th cent. novel “Hong Lou Meng” or “Dream of the Red Chamber” with persons in courtyards on one side and long poetic inscriptions on the other, together with two seals of the artist. The plaques are inserted on supporting carved ivory frames. Some remains of colors. China, Qing, late 18–early 19th cent. Plaque size: H 20,5 cm, W. 11 cm. Total size with frame: H. 25 cm x 13 cm x 10 cm. Condition: generally good, but check photo no 11 and 12.
