Antique ink cake from the ink workshop of Hu Kaiwen during the Jia Qing period. On one side with a scene depicting a hall in which a qing instrument and a rack with ancient chimes are distinguishable in low relief; on the other side two ramping dragons flanking the name of the place represented: Gu Lai Tang (The Hall of ancient sounds ) in Gugong Bei Hai. It bear a Jiaqing nianzhi mark on the side. H. 9,5 cm x 4,6 cm x 1 cm. Condition: Slight use on the bottom part and some degrading to gold.
