A small ink cake of oval cartouche shape depicting a palace scene with clouds and trees; the other side with stilized dragons flanking an inscription identifying the place represented: Qi Yin Hall in the old Summer palace Yuanmingyuan. It bear a Jiaqing nianzhi (1796 – 1820) mark on the side. This ink cake was made by the famous ink workshop of Hu Kaiwen from Huizhou Jixi County in Anhui province. H. 5 cm x 6 cm x 1 cm. Condition: some wear to gold due to age and handling.
