Rare and Early Tibetan Ritual Dance Mask

Rare and early, ritual dance-mask of painted textile, gesso and papier-mâché. Used in the Tscham dance. Probably meant to depict either Mahakala or the wrathful form of Vajrapani. Ca. 1800. H 38 cm, W 35 cm. Condition: Considerable wear w. some losses and areas of repair.
