| A small but very charming gilt bronze image of the bodhisattva Sadakshari Avalokitesvara seated in the characteristic posture. The upper pair of hands hold a rosary (mala) and a lotus flower respectively, while the lower pair of hands are joined in front of the chest in the anjali-mudra, the gesture of greeting. Face with delicately done cold gilding. Later re-closed. Tibet, 16–17th. cent. H 8,5 cm. Condition: Very good, but w. some wear to gilding. | |||||||||||||||
