MORIAGE pottery Phoenix and Peony floral enameled polychrome details heavy and fine beaded enamel moriage work, on orange peel ground. Meticulously applied jewel like beading is exceptionally well done, with heavy Ruri Yu (oxidized cobalt color) and rich primary color glazes.
The vase is supported on three elephant like heads. A stellar collectors piece, large and bold. 19th century or earlier.

Massive and unique original DEMETRE H CHIPARUS verdigris bronze seated nude sculpture. Originally foundried in Paris circa 1925-1930's by Romanian sculptor, DEMETRE H. CHIPARUS.
This bronze personifies the geometric precision and balance which is unique to the ART DECO movement, strongly influenced by Chiparus. The original sculpture is 19" (48 1/2 cm) in length on the base measurement. Height is 17 1/2" (44 1/2cm)from top of her head to base. The nude figure is poised, sophisticated, and timeless.
This is a rare offering of an ART DECO masterpiece, Not an excuse for a rediculously overpriced knockoff. There are no repairs, or damage. Interior shows remains of castings, etc. A small (1/4 inch) hairline foundry crack is on the back of the neck of the sculpture. Otherwise, mint condition.

Blue enameled flowers edge this foliate rimmed porcelain Arita plate, 19th century. Cartouche features Japanese village, Imari detail, and butterflies. Gilt accents, hand painted. Plate is 8 1/2" (21 1/2cm) lovely, milky white porcelain, signed on reverse, with six characters.

CHINESE PEWTER TEA POT, FISH FORM (CARP OR KOI) early 19th century Chinese Heavily chased and tooled pewter, copper trimmed edging on gills and surrounding red coral eyes. Top lid is well fitted and removable, shaped pewter handle swivels on original mounts. The pewter feet. Dimensions:

Condition: Very Good. Appropriate for the period, a very faint 1/2" tight surface hairline bottom right edge (5 o'clock) which does not go through.

Underglaze blue and white Sometsuke vase, most likely Hirado or Arita Thickly potted, the 10" (25.5cm) vase is encircled by two white scaled dragons in high relief on a floral background. The neck is highlighted by four car touches, two scenic, two Peony floral. Foliate rimmed,there are leaves and florals inside the vase neck.
The glaze has a soft celadon cast, with pooled celadon glaze on base. Condition: Excellent. Slight wear typical of the period, no chips or cracks.

Creamy white incredible Mandarin Noble, Dehua (Blanc de Chine) 11" (29cm) by 5" 12cm) porcelain figurene, signed on reverse, impressed inscription which translates to 'PAIR OF TWO FIGURES WARING STATES, DONG CHI AND TAO SAN' Some minor frits and chips,and missing small details, clearly visible in photos. Unusual early Dehua, or Blanc de Chine figure. This is the companion piece to the Mandarin figure I am offering here also. Please note the early wheeled sedan chair, belt and incredible file details such as fringe on collar, layered underskirts, etc. The figure is 11 1/4" (29cm) by 5" (2cm). This is a period piece, though unsigned, the companion Mandarin bears a detailed inscription, translated from the Chinese on item 430453 There is minor wear, and small areas which could be restored if desired, but not deemed necessary, such as fringe on garment, and part of hair ornament. Please contact me for more photos or additional details. It was the opinion of Warren Antiques, Laguna Beach CA that these may be theatrical characters.
