Alexander Dzigurski, who is known for his seascapes, landscapes, and some portraiture, is associated with the art of California, although he was born in the farming community of Backa, located in Stari Becej, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. His extensive US travel can be seen in his works from the Smokies, the Grand Tetons, Mt. Shasta, the Rockies, Glacier National Park, New England, and other coastal areas. His paintings can be found in the Franklin Mint Museum of American Art in Pennsylvania, the Republic Bank of Dallas, The Michigan Bank of Chicago, Illinois, the Ravenswood Bank of Chicago, Illinois, and at the Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria, Illinois. Gary Ray was born May 30, 1952 in Venice, California. He's a 4th generation Californian. Ray was exposed to art at an early age. Primarily self taught, some of his greatest artistic influences have come from the works of Edgar Payne, and Hanson Puthuff. exposure has had an influence on his artistic outlook. Ray is also Ray began his painting career 13 years ago. He paints plein-air images of the Southern and Central California coastal regions, and inland areas. Being a working, traveling drummer since the age of 18, he has had the opportunity to tour the great cities, and museums of Europe. This heavily involved in Arts and Crafts collecting, and restoration of various Arts and Crafts items.
Ray has exhibited widely in Southern and Central California. In 2002, and now in 2003, his works have been successfully auctioned at John Moran's and Bonham & Butterfield's in the Los Angeles, California area. He works out of his studio in Venice, California. This floral study of FUCHSIAS is so vivid and realistic it is hard to believe this is an oil painting on canvas, and not a photograph.
In the manner of O'Keefe, Takaguchi has captured the essence of floral beauty. I am unable to find any data on this artist.
