Fine English Delft of this age, size and quality do not appear very often. Deeply detailed cobalt flowers on fine white ground. The brushwork is highly detailed. There is a gilt ring on the base edge. Unmarked.

Condition: Very fine for age. There is a line where the potted base was melded to the upper bulb, with a very slight hairline at this point, or it could be part of the glaze from firing . This is not a mold made vase The glaze is clear, with fine underglaze cobalt blue with visible brush strokes.

Here is an unusual bold and impressive pair of KUTANI Japanese Shishi or Foo a delightful matched pair with a fine majolica glaze. Great turquoise color, black and dark green highlights and unique style. The pair sits on interesting bases and bears no signature or mark. The figurines are probably late 19th century.

Fine earthenware Satsuma vase, signed on base. This is a beautiful Millefiore (million flower) vase with exceptional painted details so sought after in Satsuma. The colors are exceptionally pleasing and this is a very powerful piece which commands a great deal of attention. The painted florals are rendered with meticulous detail making this vase a show piece.

Absolutely the best Frog! He is a glazed with a thick rich deep turquoise, on coarse hard pottery. Froggy has the cutest potbelly, huge eyes, and other wonderful froggy attributes. He has been the king of my garden for quite awhile.Selling him because I am making an international move, and will have no yard.
The frog was purchased from a very chic,very over priced nursery in Santa Barbara, California seven years ago. I can not tell you how old the frog is, but I know they had him for 10 years, probably because of his outrageous price. The owner told me the frog was shipped with a collection of fine garden porcelain, including particularly wonderful shaped large pots, (Of Course I bought some of these also,so inquire) they are incredibly beautiful works of art with turquoise and azure drip glazes. also...

CHINESE CELADON porcelain lamp with raised figural fruit details This beautiful Chinese lamp is crafted exquisitely. Embossed scrolled motif enhanced by interesting sculpted barbotine fruit and handles. Base and lid are rosewood, the 12" shade is off white textured and a tapered Chinese form. Hardware is good quality brass, and the lamp is topped with a Chinese finial.

This fine relief carved 19th century Chinese porcelain ginger jar is a WANG BINGRONG masterpiece. Bingrong is most noted for his relief carvings on porcelain, notably waterlily and crane motifs and dragons.
Great turquoise base color and the embossed work is highly graphic with beautiful soft palette colors and much winsome charm. All details are especially sharp and workmanship is incredible. The lid and jar are both embossed with relief detail. Remains of early paper label on base.

This is the most intriguing and spectacular pair of Japanese Shishi figurines. I specialize in figural Asian porcelain and these figures are a rare find,I have never seen a pair quite like these, and unfortunately I can not read the character marks.

The Shishi, or Foos if you prefer appear to be Kutani, with starburst marks characteristic of late 19th centur Japanese. Great flamboyant style, pizazz and wonderful brilliant polychrome color and unique details. The Shishi have a unique charming almost folk art "mingei" feel. There was old felt backing which I have removed but find no identifying marks, so the figurines probably date to pre 1890. I have left a very early price sticker which came with the figurines.

CANTAGALLI signed majolica is treasured among collectors. This outstanding large pair of reticulated porcelain lamps has all the desireable details so sought by this wonderful Italian Majolica manufacturer.

From the top of the incredible gilt finials to the serpents and figural heads these lamps just jumpout. Bold majolica is contrasting greens and pinks really set off a RETRO feel, with age old Italian Majolica.

The lamps are signed with the Cantagalli name, rooster and Italy.
