This unusual pair of green and yellow pottery Sancai FOO DOGS or Foo Lion are early Ming style, and are actually Joss Stick holders used in Buddhist ceremonies. Definitely more interesting and charming than the usual "foo on the block." This porcelain duo is marked Made in China and dates to the turn of the century.

The interior shows much use, and overall condition of the brazier is excellent, with only minor chips to enamel, and wear to be expected in a work of this age.

A most interesting Gofun Geisha, of great balance and design. She holds the Samurai helmet of her lover in her hand, and the hair trails over the base. The dolls features are well painted, and her clothing is fine silk and brocade. She is mounted on a black lacquer base with a drawer to the left.
