This unusual pair of green and yellow pottery Sancai FOO DOGS or Foo Lion are early Ming style, and are actually Joss Stick holders used in Buddhist ceremonies. Interesting and unusual peacock accented very early Japanese plate, signed on reverse by maker. A lot of fine intricate detail, great iron red and gilt motif. Truly beautiful. A most interesting Gofun Geisha, of great balance and design. She holds the Samurai helmet of her lover in her hand, and the hair trails over the base. The dolls features are well painted, and her clothing is fine silk and brocade. She is mounted on a black lacquer base with a drawer to the left.
