I am pleased to offer a famille rose umbrella stand with fine painted enamels and a lot of action. There is a lot of activity here in fierce battle portrayed in vivid famille rose colors. Soldiers are on horseback and upon mythical Foos.
Stand, or large urn if you prefer is thickly potted, has great workmanship and is a beautiful work of art which is functional as well as attractive. Signed on base with red character mark. Dimensions: Height 18" Condition: Excellent, no damage

18th Century Louis XV faience pitcher, France. A rare offering of a barbotine (raised figural details) large milk pitcher. The pouring spout is the head of a rooster, or cockerel; the head and trim details in dark sage green pigment. The figural details are leaves,fruit and classical embellishments Pitcher is most likely Strasborg in origin.

Large service pieces are extremely scarce from the 18th century...Milk pitchers were knocked over by children, and of course France was ravaged by many wars.

Green was a color seldom used alone.

Condition: Excellent for period. Minor rubs, small scratches. The interior was painted overglaze with milk paint, flaking,underglaze showing in spots.

Here is an unusual bold and impressive pair of KUTANI Japanese Shishi or Foo a delightful matched pair with a fine majolica glaze. Great turquoise color, black and dark green highlights and unique style. The pair sits on interesting bases and bears no signature or mark. The figurines are probably late 19th century.

Presented here is a very attractive mid 20th century Chinese Export Gourd Vase in Famille Rose palette. The motif is very pleasing with a peacock,florals and butterflies. A nice vase that looks great in a collection of Chinese porcelain. Especially nice shape. Vase is marked on bottom with makers mark in red.

Nevers mid to late 18th Century French faience cup and saucer. A really special find featuring a kneeling Breton woman on the cup, and floral sprays on saucer. Sometimes thought to be Quimper, the faiencerie is in the Rouen region of northern France. Impressive size and painted details, a rare collectors showpiece which displays beautifully. Plate bears number 1911, which I believe is the item number. Dimensions:

A fine blue and white plate in the manner of SHONZUI. I can only say that I have seen photos of Shonzui, which is Chinese. I do not know the age or origin of this plate, but I would say by appearances it is Japanese.
