A beautifully painted oil on canvas, signed and dated, Maria Therese Bru.. 1908. The serene and lovely young woman is ready to kiss a white dove, Perhaps this is symbolic for the hope of peace. The painting is done in soft muted blues and greens, and I have just had it custom framed with an exceptional wooden and gessoed frame which really compliments the blue and green tonal hues. The signature is faded, and I do not know the last name of the artist. The painting was purchased in Uruguay, mostlikely Spanish. Exceptional Imari Charger with wonderful reds and greens with very finely worked gilt accents, central medallion and side cartouches. There is a soft pastel palette with enamels of exceptional workmanship in the central body . A fine work, with unusual rose florals, on reverse. Most likely Japanese, with added Chinese mark, or is it Chinese Imari imitating the Japanese style? This is a stunning plate. Exquisite details and bold character.

Very rare and fine KANGXI plate with applied silverleafed or gilted silver accents, Scholars,dragons and clouds with central floral cartouche. Plate features silvered five clawed dragons chasing pearl of wisdom in the cloud.

SAMSON porcelain is one of my favorite things to collect. I am pleased to offer this delightful large and unusual box in the form of stacked books.
This is very typical of the Armorial works of Samson of Paris, made to imitate Chinese Export. Many collectors believe Samson did better copies than the originals.
The box and gilt rim is all intact and the polychrome details are sharp, highlighted by the embossed raised details so familiar to Samson.
I can not tell you if the box is signed as the bottom is covered with old green felt. However, I can tell you that Samson prices are skyrocketing as pieces are grabbed up by collectors! This box is very special.

Fine and Early Chinoisere plate. Beautiful rim details, with fine shaping and interesting raised florals which I believe are thistle blossoms accented with rust tones. Delicate soft Famille rose florals with Verte greens and turquoise accents comprise the central cavetto. The plate is unsigned, most likely French, possibly Samson

Here is a mid 19th century JAPANESE TEA CEREMONY box featuring a charming rendition of sleeping Buddha with his bag used as a large pillow. Rendered to the Japanese taste, this exquisite lacquer box includes a bordered gilt tray with a subtle spray of tied chrysanthemums and leaves. The reverse of tray,lid and box interior are dusted with a gilt bronze nashiji ground. Condition is very fine, with very minor wear to gilt on edges, appropriate for a work of this period.
