Chinese Longquan Celadon Bluish Glazed Lidded Jar Tureen
Vintage celadon lidded jar with unique bluish glaze. It used to be the major export celadon ware of state-owned factory back to the time of 1980s, a modern version than its earlier type in 1970s. Designed by Professor Li Songchai in China Arts College who is praised by his great contribution to the recovery of Song Dynasty Guan ware, this classic lidded jar is embossed with peonies and leaves. Blends beautifully with any celadon pattern for a unique decorative or table service.
There is a mark ‘Chinese Longquan’ at bottom that used traditional Chinese character imprint before the glazing process. Though the state-owned factory had closed in the middle of 1990s, the bluish color tone from the previous Longquan celadon kiln was classic and rare.
This is a historical piece. It is mint with overall perfection. The lidded jar is offered “AS IS”. The best “in good faith” description and photos are provided, along with history that confirmed by the ceramists who used to work there.
