A large robustly potted Chinese square section canister decorated in typical Chinoiserie style with a scene of Pavillions, Bridges and islands dating to the early 19th century. The vase stands approximately 13 inches high and is 8 inches square. It is in good condition except for a hairline crack from the shoulder with related chip, and a restoration work to the neck. A set of five soba choko, straight sided cups, so called boars mouth cups, decorated with a pattern of a grape vine and a wasp (hachi, bee, wasp or hornet) an autumnal motif. Curiously the grapes have been inverted to resemble the more familiar pomegranate. These would have probably been used for serving sake rather than soba noodles. A large Korean celadon glazed stoneware bowl with incised decoration of a pair of stylised birds, presumably Pheonixes or possibly Cranes. The bowl dates to the late 11th or the 12th century. The bowl measures 8 inches in diameter and stands 2.5 inches high at the rim. There is one extremely fine hairline crack to the rim that is scarcely visible to to the naked eye.
