An Arita soba choko, inoguchi, decorated with two panels of quite crudely painted Peonies, and two narrower panels containing a Peach branch with three fruits. An hakami border to the base of the beaker. Diaper border to the rim and gobenka motif within a double ring to the well of the beaker. It measures 8.3cm in diameter and stands 6.8cm high and is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. Shipping at Cost

A small cast bronze figure of a seated monkey with a somewhat pensive expression intended for use as both a scroll weight and a brush rest probably Japanese and 19th century in date. Similar models exist with the same pose that have been hollowed out and used as water droppers. The figure has been extensively cold worked, some minor casting flaws. An elegant ewer of conventional metal form decorated in a three colour Imari palette with Waka matsu, young pine, and Cherry blossom in the foreground flanking a roundel containing the letter “S”, and two landscape vignettes containing a Pagoda supported upon cloud scrolls to the neck. The ewer measures approximately 17.5cm high (7 inches) and is in good condition no chips, cracks or restoration, some light crazing to the glaze in areas to the base. Dating circa 1700-20.
