A rare Kyo-yaki boat shaped koro painted in a typical Ninsei style palette. The koro painted in a palette of blue, green and aubergine enamels with gilding and an iron brown glaze. The body a high fired greyish coloured stoneware, the unglazed areas showing a reddish brown body, whilst the glaze has a slightly bluish tone where it pools. The koro measures 28cm in length, 10cm in width and 11cm in height. The body of the boat is excellent condition bit the cabin, cover, has sustained some damage but has been broken and restored. Dating Meji period circa 1868-1912. Further images on request. Shipping at Cost
