| A fine Nabeshima dish dating to the nineteenth century decorated with a design of, Sihickiko, seven wine jars set against an imbricated wave, seigaiha, ground of “blue ocean waves”. An auspicious motif and a homophone with koh-shichi – Happy seven. One jar decorated with a cracked “ice” pattern, the others with a drip pattern around the collarsand the other with stylised clouds. The dish is of classic mokouhai-gata form with a high footrim. The reverse decorated with three Shippo motifs, made up of six shippo tied with ribbons, and a classic combed foot kushijo pattern to the footrim. 20.2cm in diameter (seven sun) in diameter.
