| An unusual high rimmed irregularly moulded Arita dish painted with the eight views of Omi, Omi hakkei, each contained within a roundel with further brocade balls, and painted with a key fretwork border both to the inside and outside edges. The roundel format is adapted from contemporary woodblock prints such as those by Utagawa Totohiro. For a dish of identical moulded form see no 3974 at page 504 of the Complete catalogue of the Shibata Collection, there dated circa 1810-1840. The dish is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or restoration and measures approximately 20.5cm in diameter. Shipping at Cost | ||
